Bevor Seba Kaapstad live in der Halle der Alten Feuerwache spielt, spricht Musikethnologin Rim Irscheid (King’s College London) vorab im öffentlichen Interview mit den Musiker*innen u.a. darüber, wie das Musikmachen funktionieren kann, wenn die eine Hälfte der Band in Südafrika und die andere Hälfte in Deutschland lebt, über den Prozess des Songschreibens, Distanz und über die Intensität von Begegnungen. Dazu besprechen die Bandmitglieder auch, wie Debatten zu Diskriminierung, Tokenism und kultureller Aneignung in einer bi-nationalen Band ausgehandelt werden.
